Post Natal Pilates
The ultimate class for new mums! Ideal way to strengthen core muscles (abdominal and pelvic floor), strengthen back and improve posture.
After giving birth, many women are keen to regain their figure but are often feeling fatigued and weak. These small classes (limited to 5 ladies per class) are ideal to re-train the muscles that have often ‘given up’ during pregnancy and birth. The classes are held weekly over a block of 10 weeks. The classes run on a rolling programme so you can start at any time providing there is space. Alternatively you can pay as pay as you go.
During this time you will learn to activate the all important core muscles, learn relaxation techniques and meet new mums. Pilates is not cardiovascular and should also be accompanied by low-level aerobic exercise such as buggy walking.
NOTE: YOU MUST BE 6 WEEKS POST DELIVERY TO START OR 8 WEEKS POST CAESAREAN AND HAVE HAD YOUR CHECK BY YOUR GP

Laura Gardner Wedge – MSc, MCSP. MHPC, BAHT
Laura qualified with an MSc Physiotherapy degree from the University of Birmingham, having previously attained a BSc. (Hons) degree in Sport and Exercise Science.
Since qualifying, Laura has worked in both Private Clinics and NHS Hospitals in Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Avon, working mostly in Musculoskeletal Out-Patients. This has included work with elite sportsmen and women, and also in Orthopedic In-Patient services.
Laura has a particular interest in the upper limb and as a member of the British Association of Hand Therapists has a special interest in hand therapy. She has undertaken additional training in Pilates with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute and currently runs Intermediate and Post Natal Pilates here at Prestbury Holistic Centre.
